What
is “
Dashmahavidya”:
How The Power Comes from
& How It Helps Humanbeing
Ten different appearances/ forms of Goddess Durga is called “Dashmahavidya” which are essential divine power to articulate charms & incantations; the fundamentals of “Tantra”.The “Brahamyasurapa” may have imaginary figure and may have not too. From the Vedic Age, incantation is practiced with the different expressions of Goddess Durga; Kali, Ambika, Kalrupa,Subha, Mahananda, Mrigobahini, Raktadanta, Shulodharini, Bishnupriya, Debomohini, Surosha, Bhadrakalika, and so on …
In this way, worship & incantation, enchanting mystical formula/ hymn or verse (in praise of some deity), are conjunction & synergy of practices of “Dashmahavidya”.In the “Ancient Indian Mythology”, “Bedobayash” in Krishnadaipayan, even in Mahabhagbat Puran, we also find the ever enlightened story of “God Shiva & Goddess Sati”, as follows;
When Brahmadev, came to know that goddess Sati will born in the earth to get married with almighty Shiva, then Brahamadev asked his son ”Daksha” to get Goddess Sati as his child for his wellness & to be blessed too. Accordingly “Daksha” started his penance; - the religious austerity and he also granted for the same but with few conditions, i.e. if “Daksha” insult or ignore goddess sati by any mean then, She will move away. As the time progressed, Goddess Sati became a bride and an assembly was arranged to choice groom. Lord Shiva was there as it was inevitable, but “Daksha” was not agreed to hand over his daughter to God Shiva, as he was a beggar, vagabond & wander in cremation ground. As it is a destiny, even after keeping away from Lord Shiva, Mata Sati got married with.
